Wavemaster waveski's in NZ |
|
Wavemaster Australia has now joined forces with local rider Tony Gibbs and together are now making a major push into the local New Zealand market. Tony of course has been riding for as long as he can remember and has ridden in numerous world champs here and in SA, but missing the current event due to work commitments. Tony will be the local contact for all things Wavemaster, and will provide the backup and support for the brand here in New Zealand, dealing with both current and future Wavemaster customers. Wavemaster has an exceptional range of skis and accessories, and covers a full range for total novice just beginning to the top end custom skis ridden by the likes of world champ Reece Duncan. These boards are phenomenal and results by team riders speak for themselves.

"Things going well here, big snotty atlantic waves, 6ft shore break, very difficult to get off the beach at times, vigorous stuff, swell dropping for weekend finals" - Steve Gibbs, NZ 2011 World Waveski Surfing Association AGM (non-official release, potentially inaccurate, see www.worldwaveski.org sometime after this week): Jackie Dillon (Au) remains president, Siegfried Gorczynski (NZ) as treasurer, Jan Brand (SA) as secretary and John Nowak (NZ) as web-dude. Brazil to host 2013 World Waveski Titles.

2011 World Waveski Surfing Titles |
|
The 2011 World Waveski Surfing Titles is due to kick off and it's shaping up to be a biggie - looking like good conditions for the opening rounds and fingers crossed the swell holds out for the week. Best conditions look early on in the week and competitors will need to keep an eye out on the cross-shores that will settle in for the latter part of the week - the upside that could bring plenty of ramps for big air setups. Good luck everyone! Keep an eye out for more info here.
